Route 2 to becoming Gas Safe registered
Category 2 Applicant / New entrant into the industry
- No previous experience
We have developed a unique Fast Track Gas Installers training programme that allows new entrants to the gas industry to ultimately achieve their gas qualifications in the fastest possible time.
We have designed a bespoke 8-week gas training course that incorporates essential pipework and plumbing skills into the gas foundation. This programme ensures that you obtain essential plumbing and central heating installation skills as part of the training course. You will learn all practical and legislative aspects of gas supply and installation.
Build your on-site portfolio with the assistance of a Gas Safe Registered engineer. This is a legal requirement as part of your training. If you do not know a Gas Safe Installer that will help you build your portfolio then we will ensure you get a placement.
Upon successful completion of your on-site gas portfolio return to the training centre. You will complete your initial ACS Training & Assessment. ACS is the Accredited Certification Scheme – these are your Gas Qualifications. You will undertake your core gas safety (CCN1) and 4 domestic elements (Central Heating, Cookers, Fires and Water Heaters). Individual gas appliances are categorised – you cannot work on an appliance unless you hold the correct certificate.
Apply to Gas Safe for registration in your own right or you may work under an employer’s registration by holding the correct ACS qualifications.
