Warm Front Grants Will Increase Demand For Relevant Plumbing Training

The UK governments Warm Front grants scheme is expected to increase the demand for people who have taken relevant plumbing training or gas courses.

The Warm Front grants have been introduced by the government to provide funding for insulation, heating and boilers and are aimed at people on disability or certain income-related benefits. The grants provide funding of up to £3,500 for regular household heating.

The Scheme was launched last year and very quickly allocated its entire budget. This resulted in them having to turn down requests from many eligible homeowners. The scheme is set to open again in April this year and due to its continuing demand, the need for people who have taken relevant plumbing training is again going to soar.

Why will demand for plumbers soar?

Warm front grants include funding for the following, most of which are covered in our relevant plumbing training:

  • Loft insulation
  • Draught proofing
  • Cavity wall insulation
  • Hot water tank insulation
  • Gas, electric or oil heating

This means that if a plumber has taken related plumbing training in heating work then they will be eligible to carry out work on heating systems.

The average plumber can earn up to £25,000 if they work by themselves with some top earners earning up to £40,000. Doing the relevant plumbing training is vital to earning potential. If you are interested in increasing you’re earning potential – or want to find out more about what types of plumbing training is available – then take a look at our plumbing courses.

Up to 31st December 2020 Regulated qualifications and UKAS Accredited certificates of competence issued in the UK were widely recognised by other EU member states. However since the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, individual member states that previously recognised a UK qualification may now no longer do so. Learners undertaking qualifications on the basis that it is recognised by an EU member state should in the first instance make enquiries with the relevant bodies in that Country to confirm its recognition status.
