What is a Combination “Combi” Boiler?

A combination boiler, or combi boiler as it is most commonly known, can now be found in around 70% of homes in the UK.
Combi boilers provide central heating and hot water without the need for a separate tank to store water; this means that they can be stored in more discreet locations in the house, for instance under the stairs or in a cupboard.

Benefits of using a combi boiler

Combi boilers provide instant Hot Water around the house as it is needed; this is done by heating the water through the boiler and using a pump to send it around the system. A combi boiler is ideal for smaller households as it saves energy by heating water as it is needed reducing the cost of energy bills.

Disadvantages of using a combi boiler

As a combi boiler heats water as it is needed the system simply cannot handle the running of multiple showers at the same time. A combi boiler is best recommended for smaller households with one to three occupants.
