Woodrow Mercer Gas Engineer Vacancies

Woodrow Mercer is currently looking to employ qualified gas engineers. They’ve contacted Options Skills to ask us to promote these vacancies to our successful trainees old and new, allowing them to apply for roles completing their training.

Their current vacancies include:

 Gas Appliance Installer – UK Wide

Woodrow Mercer is recruiting for 2 of the UK’s largest white goods distribution companies. As a result, they are interested in speaking to anybody who has gas qualifications and some experience of installing gas domestic appliances.

Salaries vary depending on experience and location but are generally between £25,000 and £32,000 with benefits and bonuses on top. Woodrow Mercer are particularly interested in hearing from Birmingham and London candidates as we have urgent vacancies in these locations, but there is an ongoing need for candidates across the UK.

The role:

Working with a trainee Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering and installing gas appliances in customer homes. You will act as a mentor to the Trainee Engineer and help them to pick up the ropes and learn the trade as they are put through their ACS training.

There is a real scope for progression at both of these companies and excellent ongoing support and training opportunities.


Trainee White Goods Engineer – East Midlands

Starting salary £17,000

This is an entry-level position for a White Goods Engineer based Newark-on-Trent. The client will consider anyone with an aptitude for engineering as full training will be offered on the job.

You will work on-site at a WEEE recycling plant and be responsible for the grading, repairing, testing and inspecting of appliances.

The role:

  • Determine the potential, quality and repair capacity of the product
  • Repair of products after being graded
  • Stripping down and re-building machines
  • Fault finding and diagnosis
  • Testing of products
  • Completing required paperwork.

White Goods Engineer with Gas qualifications (following locations)

We are recruiting for companies across the UK who are looking for Domestic Appliance Engineers who also have gas qualifications.

Ideal candidates will have experience of working on washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, Fridges (first line)  and cookers (electric and gas)

Salaries are between £24,000 and £34,000 depending on the level of experience and location.

Commercial Laundry Engineer – Leicester, Stoke on Trent, Northampton, Watford, Harrow, Slough, Uxbridge

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum + bonus scheme

The Role:

You will be provided with in-depth training programmes. You will have the opportunity to provide excellent customer service and enhance the reputation of this well-known client across a number of sectors.

Based from home, you will undertake the service & repair of commercial equipment for a varied range of customers.

To be considered:

– Have an electro-mechanical background
– Preferably experienced in a Field Service Engineer role – ideally from white goods, photocopier, fire and security, refrigeration, commercial catering/laundry background. Others will also be considered.
– Hold a valid full UK drivers licence
– Have excellent customer service skills
– 17th Edition is not essential but would act as an advantage to your application
– City & Guilds 236 or any other electrical qualification is not essential but would act as an advantage to your application


Trainee White Goods Engineer(s) – London

My client is a first class manufacturer of White Goods multi-nationally. They are looking to grow their London team over the summer with a traineeship scheme.

Candidates will be offered manufacturer training on a starting salary of £17,000 for either 6 or 12 months. Once fully trained, your package will increase to circa £35,000.
