Towards the end of 2018, Options Skills teamed up with Build Staff. The aim was to assist those in the trades industry in finding work. Whether that’s on an employed or sub-contract basis, Build Staff specialise in trades industry careers and matching up candidates with the right employers.

As a trades training company, we partnered up with Build Staff to assist our students in their job search. This may be during training or roles after gaining their qualifications.

And we’re pleased to say that three of our students have recently begun placements with Concepto Solutions.

Joining us to undertake their electrical training and gain their NVQ Level 3, they’ve completed stage one of their training. Doing so in our Wembley training centre, they are now onto stage two.

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Training

Our NVQ Level 3 Electrical Training Course begins with eight weeks of centre-led training. During this time, Options Skills trainees gain invaluable experience and knowledge. Through both theoretical and practical training in our classrooms and workshops, students learn the essential aspects of the trade. Included in this stage of training is the new 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and DEI Qualifications.

Students are registered as electrical trainees during centre-led training and gain their ECS Trainee Card. The ECS Trainee Card allows them to go on to seek employment to complete their portfolio – which is stage two of this training course.

With their ECS Cards, the students utilised our sister company, Build Staff, to help them progress in their training.

Concepto Solutions

Each one of them has begun a placement with Concepto Solutions in London. Mainly focusing on residential and commercial installations, recent projects have included working at Fulham Arena and a 100-flat project in Watford.

Four years after being founded, the company was awarded membership to the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) in March 2008.

Feedback

The students on this placement have all come from different industry backgrounds, showing how anyone can progress with the right attitude and work ethic.

Charlie worked within the electrical industry before enrolling on the Options Skills course, while Jerome has a sales background. On the other hand, Shaun worked in the construction and manufacturing industry before deciding to the as an electrician.

Though they have different levels and areas of experience, some similarities have been noted about all three.

With feedback coming from Concepto already, they’re impressed with each student they’ve taken on. They’re all eager to learn, ambitious and have a great attitude.

Concepto Solutions have even informed us that they’d be happy to take on more Options Skills students in the future.
