Autumn Statement Brings Good News For Small Businesses

Yesterday the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, announced a number of initiatives to stimulate the growth of small to medium sized businesses by getting “credit flowing” and Britain building.

Osborne said the government “will invest in funds that lend directly to these businesses, in partnership with other investors like pension funds and insurance companies”.
This will offer companies “a new source of investment outside the traditional banks”.

With the likelihood of banks lending to small businesses at a low this gives new opportunities for people who want to set up their own businesses to get the essential funds needed to launch their businesses.

This is coupled with the previously announced get Britain building scheme which will offer funds to developers to build more properties and make it easier to gain planning permission. This will mean that more jobs will be available in the construction sector.

This is good news for career changers who want to set up their own plumbing, electrical or gas business as they will now have more options to get funding to set up their own business.
