About Our (Part L) Energy Efficiency Course

Why Earn Energy Efficiency (Part L) Qualifications?

Energy Efficiency is a legal requirement for anybody who installs domestic heating and hot water systems to comply with Part L of the Building Regulations. Therefore, the Part L course and qualification are aimed at existing installers, gas engineers and plumbers or anybody that installs new heating and hot water systems.

The course aims to provide gas and heating installers with the knowledge to advise customers on how to get the best from their central heating system, including boiler sizing, heating controls, reducing heat loss and saving energy.

Energy Efficiency Training - Course Overview

Standards & Requirements

Understand the rigorous energy efficiency standards for gas-fired and oil-fired heating appliances, including regulations on condensing and non-condensing boiler installations, and specific requirements for space heating circuit types.

Hot Water Systems

Learn the compliance standards for hot water storage vessels, and grasp the essential preparation, treatment, and commissioning requirements for both hot water systems and wet central heating systems.

Gas & Oil Fired Heating Systems

Familiarize yourself with the minimum standards for controlling gas-fired and oil-fired wet central heating systems, as well as insulation standards for pipework in these systems, ensuring energy efficiency in heating installations.

(Part L) Energy Efficiency training is available at three of the Options Skills training centres. Located in; Birmingham, Manchester, and South London.
